Glutaraldehyde 50%

Glutaraldehyde is a highly effective disinfectant, which has the characteristics of broad spectrum, high efficiency,

low toxicity, little corrosion to metals, little influence by organic matter, and good stability. It is suitable for

disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments and precision instruments with humidity and heat resistance.

Main advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages:

① Glutaraldehyde is a broad spectrum, highly effective disinfectant, can kill all microorganisms;

② Can be used for sterilization of heat-resistant medical instruments;

(3) glutaraldehyde has little irritation, low corrosion, safety and low toxicity at the use concentration;

(4) The effect of organic matter is small, 20% organic matter has little influence on the bactericidal effect.

Disadvantages:

(1) Sterilization time is long, sterilization generally up to 10 hours;

② Glutaraldehyde has certain toxicity, can cause bronchitis and pulmonary edema;

(3) Sterilized medical instruments should be fully washed with distilled water before use.
