Benzalkonium Chloride
This product is a broad-spectrum bactericide of cationic surfactant class, which can change the permeability of bacterial cytoserous membrane, make the cytoplasmic substance of bacterial body permeate, hinder its metabolism and play a killing role. It has a strong effect on gram-positive bacteria, but is ineffective against pseudomonas aeruginosa, acid-fast bacillus and bacterial spores. It can rapidly bind to protein, and its effect is significantly reduced in the presence of blood, cotton, cellulose and organic matter.

Benzalammonium chloride has low toxicity, no cumulative toxicity, is easily soluble in water, and is not affected by water hardness, so it is widely used in the circulating cooling water system of petroleum, chemical, electric power, textile and other industries to control the breeding of bacteria and algae in the circulating cooling water system, and has special effect on killing sulfate-reducing bacteria.
Benzalkonium chloride can be used as sterilization and mildew inhibitor and softener, antistatic agent, emulsifier and conditioner in textile printing and dyeing industry.
Benzalkonium chloride as a bactericidal algaecide, the general dosage is 50-100mg/L; As slime stripping agent, the amount of use is 200-300mg/L, when necessary, can add appropriate amount of silicone defoamer. Benzalammonium chloride can be used in combination with other fungicides, such as isothiazolinone, glutaraldehyde, dithiocyanomethane, etc., can play a synergistic role, but should not be used together with chlorophenols. After the addition of benzalammonium chloride, there is dirt in the circulating water due to stripping. It should be filtered or fished out in time to avoid deposition after the foam disappears.
Benzalammonium chloride should not be mixed with anionic surfactants such as polyacrylic acid, hydrolyzed polyhorse, etc.
