Benzalammonium chloride solution is a broad spectrum fungicide, which can change the permeability of bacterial cytoserous membrane, make bacterial cytoplasmic substances permeate, hinder the metabolism of bacteria and play a killing effect. It has a strong effect on gram-positive bacteria, but is ineffective on pseudomonas aeruginosa, acid-fast bacillus and bacterial spores. It can rapidly combine with proteins, and the effect will be significantly decreased when there is blood, cellulose and organic matter.
Benzalammonium chloride solution is mainly used for mucous membrane disinfection at surgical sites, skin mucosal wound disinfection, skin disinfection and vaginal irrigation. It should be noted that this product can only be used externally, not for internal administration or enema. In addition, it can not be used in mucosal wound or inflammation site for a long time or a large area.
